W.M.U. Comics

The W.M.U Comics! Now with **Commentary!**

Spring Semester 2005

January 18, 2005- This is an homage to the very first Peanuts comic. I love Peanuts.
January 19, 2005- Octopus gags are so freaking easy.
January 20, 2005- For some reason I find skeletons hilarious. It's hard for me not to laugh at a joke where a skeleton is the punchline.
January 21, 2005- This one sets up why Fish needs to get a job.
January 24, 2005- If you have a class with the prefix "HTD," that means "How to Die."
January 25, 2005- If you remember the opening credits to the film "Mallrats", you'll remember that Ben Affleck was credited as "Buttman."
January 26, 2005- Typical.
January 27, 2005- Looking back, Daredevil should have been beating up Hunter in the last panel. By the way, Daredevil lives in "Hell's Kitchen" in New York.
January 28, 2005- It's easy to make fun of textbook prices.
January 31, 2005- There was too much writing in this one. Too much dialogue.
February 1, 2005- He's interviewing for a job at Castle Boutique.
February 2, 2005- Some day I'll do a series of strips where these 2 security guards team up to take on Fish. Wait, no, that's lame.
February 3, 2005- Very generous.
February 4, 2005- I'm seriously going to try not to bring Sean Connery back very often. I'm becoming addicted.
February 7, 2005- A rare pun in WMU.
February 8, 2005- The ongoing Owen Gleiberman feud continues.
February 9, 2005- Fish's true feelings? All will be revealed.
February 10, 2005- I wondered if this one was in bad taste. Then I stoped wondering.
February 11, 2005- I like fake interviews.

February 14, 2005- I tried to think of a Valentines-themed comic. Obviously I failed.
February 15, 2005-
February 16, 2005- If you like "American Dad," I hate to tell you this... but... you are ruining popular culture for everyone. I enjoy Family Guy as much as the next person, but my goodness... American Dad is essentially the same show. Seth McFarlane is out of ideas.
February 17, 2005- Ross. Back in action.
February 18, 2005- I love Marvel. Bless their hearts. But they make bad decisions, and some times they just need a little slap on the hand to keep them in line. "No! No! Don't tarnish the legacy of your classic characters! Stop it! That is a bad Marvel!" Oh yeah... if you can translate what Doop is saying, you are talented.
February 21, 2005- Someone wrote a letter to the State Press about how he doesn't like the comics, and they printed it. He said that the comics should better reflect REAL college life. Then, he hypothesizes, they would be funnier. He is entitled to his opinion. By the way, I don't need any help coming up with ideas. I got plenty.
February 22, 2005- Is it just me? Or is Fish getting worse?
February 23, 2005- In the Marvel universe, Dr. Doom is the dictator of Latveria. However, if you are a continuity nut, the Fantastic Four overthrew him last year and now I think the U.N. runs the country or something.
February 24, 2005- I admit. This is dumb. And remember... Fish now has a corpse closet.
February 25, 2005- In the business school, everyone is always on you to get a job... NOW. I mentioned this in another comic.
February 28, 2005- There is no better biz.
March 1, 2005- I had to get rid of the "college-guy" from 2/21, so here it is. Oh, and now Fish has a truck.
March 2, 2005- Michelle makes her triumphant return to the comic!... and she is sexually harassed!
March 3, 2005- I recently had a test that covered nine chapters. It sucked.
March 4, 2005- I drew this at 4a.m. No shit.
March 7, 2005- Another idea that never went any further. I was going to introduce the Shark as a regular character who is really smooth with the ladies and Fish is jealous. But Fish already has an arch-enemy.
March 8, 2005- Ross in a roller-skate... an image suggested by a friend of mine.
March 9, 2005- That's supposed to be Fish driving the truck, if you can't tell. I was going to have a week of strips where he hits various people with the truck... but I passed.
March 10, 2005- Speaks for itself.
March 11, 2005- Shamelessly trying to work in the Bus-Stop Guy.
**SPRING BREAK***
March 21, 2005- Do you know anyone like this?
March 22, 2005- The new Hair-monster, with his new look.
March 23, 2005- Maybe Michelle is getting sick of Hunter/Steve/Fish's antics? Planting the seeds for a future story...
March 24, 2005- The introduction of Linzey... who will be a thorn in Steve's side for a long time to come.
March 25, 2005- I admit. This is dumb. Someone once wrote a letter to the editor about how he thinks the State Press comics suck... and he referred to my comic as "WMD." So you could tell he had a lot of experience with it.
March 28, 2005- Easy.
March 29, 2005- In the last panel, I really should have had Steve say: "Man, now people are going to think I'm a skank!"
March 30, 2005- I suppose the American Office isn't so bad... wait, maybe it is. Yeah... it is.
March 31, 2005- Speaks for itself. The exchange rate sucks. I spent a fairly conservative amount of pounds while in Britain, but then I checked my credit card statement when I got home. Yikes.
April 1, 2005- I REALLY should have suggested a cartoon switch with Brigham and Alex (the other student cartoonists) for April Fool's Day, but unfortunately I didn't even think about it until the the week these comics were due. A missed opportunity, since this will be my last chance to draw an April Fool's comic.
April 4, 2005- The triumphant return of Steve's dad.
April 5, 2005- The character in the last panel is supposed to look like the Shane character from The Shield, further suggesting that Steve's dad is like an alternate universe version of Vic Mackey.
April 6, 2005- My friends agree... this sounds like something I would say.
April 7, 2005- I was going to do a long story with Professor Blackheart, in which he prided himself on having the hardest tests in school. He would need personal security guards during tests because students would randomly attack him. For some reason I decided against it.
April 8, 2005- Everyone has felt like this at one time or another.
April 11, 2005- Easy, easy gag.
April 12, 2005- Oddly enough, Britney came out this very week and confirmed that she is pregnant.
April 13, 2005- Continued. I like to stretch out material as far as I can get it.
April 14, 2005- People freaking love Family Guy!
April 15, 2005- Linzey is back!
April 18, 2005- Oh God, here we go. Due to a mysterious illness, I ran very short on time this week and had to rush some comics. I dearly hope I never have to do that again.
April 19, 2005- It's painful.
April 20, 2005- And it continues.
April 21, 2005- And I ended this un-clever week with an un-clever twist.
April 22, 2005- I fucking love Star Wars.
April 25, 2005- I am often made physically ill by that show.
April 26, 2005- I'm glad Weezer is back in the news, but I have to wonder why they keep recording music together when they don't seem to get along and generally don't seem to enjoy themselves during the process. Of course, I'm basing these assumptions off what I read in the Rolling Stone and Alternative Press magazines, but maybe I'm only seeing what the journalists want me to see, and journalists often mislead people.
April 27, 2005- An easy Fish-violence gag.
April 28, 2005- =G= rocks!
April 29, 2005- I was contractually obligated to bring back the BSG. Also, I am morally obligated to provide you with this photo.
May 2, 2005- This concept is funny to me. Don't know why.
May 3, 2005- LAST DAY!!!
Unused #1- I drew this one... but for whatever reason I didn't use it.
Unused #2- Same deal with this one.
Unused #3- Same deal here, too.
